Rising vocalist LaCree is rapidly proving to the masses what raw talent and perseverance means towards longevity as an artist. Hailing from Virginia Beach, she proves that there's got to be 'something in the water' as she shares her hometown with legends Missy Elliot and Pharrell Williams. Her sound is as colorful and original as these other greats have proven to be. Her rich, vocal tone has been compared to the likes of Toni Braxton and Erykah Badu. After releasing her first project, "Searching for Nirvana", she garnered the attention of ASAP Ferg and worked well with them until she left Virginia to explore Los Angeles.
As a woman in a male-driven industry, LaCree expels all norms and cliches. Her unyielding personality defies all stereotypes in front of and behind the mic. Not only as a vocalist but also as a DJ in the local clubs of both Virginia and Los Angeles, a skill that helped support her study of music production at Los Angeles's LA Film School.
Her lates single, "You Ain't" produced by Ced Hughes showcases her unique ability to "flow". Her music clearly widens boundaries and contribues to the potential that contemporary R&B has amongst our new generation of artists.
